ePM1 filter - more info

ePM1 filter is a filter class within ISO 16890 that filters out the smallest and most dangerous particles. Particles with a diameter of 1 μm or less can enter the bloodstream and cause diseases such as:

  • Lung cancer
  • Cardiovascular diseases
  • Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
  • Dementia

ePM1 filters filter out between 50 and 90% of particles 0.3-1 μm, depending on the filter selected.

ePM1 filters - Areas of application

ePM1 filters are recommended for use in environments where people spend long periods of time, such as:

The minimum requirement is a filtration level of 50% for these areas according to Eurovent. ePM1 filters can also be used in exhaust air to protect ventilation units. For example, in a car paint production line where the particles transported out can damage the units and cause production stoppages.
